revolution from the inside out
Acceptance & Commitment Training (ACT)
According to the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) “uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility”. The ACBS provides a great resource for exploring the research findings supporting ACT.
Psychological flexibility is the capacity to choose from a wide range of possible responses to a situation depending upon context. ACT empowers us to let go of the “inner battle” by helping us align our behavior with our values, develop the skills to face our fears, and respond to life’s challenges more flexibly.
The Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness is fortunate to have ACT expert Angie Hardage, LMLP as a part of our team. She offers a delightful variety of ACT based classes, workshops and seminars to our community which you can explore on our Offerings page.
