Mindfulness Practice Groups

The Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness (MAM) values community and understands the importance of practicing together. We offer weekly mindfulness practice meetings to our members and the general public. Meetings are led by a rotating group of mindfulness professionals and offer an opportunity to start, build, maintain or deepen a practice and connect with like-minded individuals. Having trouble maintaining a personal practice? Our weekly meetings can contribute to participation in our Annual Meditation Challenge.

Community Practice Meetings

MAM offers weekly practice meetings that are FREE for its members. Drop-in passes are also available to non-members. Meetings are guided by trained mindfulness teachers. Participants are invited to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and meditation cushion. Props, chairs and a limited supply of mats are also available on location – please preregister to save your spot.  Please arrive at least five minutes early for class. The interior office area is kept locked for privacy and security reasons. So, if you arrive late and class has already started, the facilitator may not hear you to let you in. Remember, no refunds are provided for missed classes. Arriving early also allows time to set up a cozy spot with any equipment and props you might need to be comfortable before the class begins.

  • Thursday Evening Practice Group: 7-8 pm in our practice space, the Peace Pod, at 11100 Ash Street Suite 103 Leawood, KS 66211. This meeting is FREE to members and begins with gentle mindful movement to prepare the body for stillness, shifts into a guided meditation practice, and ends with inquiry and discussion.   • Mindfulness Cafe: Mondays & Wednesdays from 12-12:45 pm in the Peace Pod. FREE to members. Take a mindful lunch break where the menu includes gentle mindful movement and a variety of mindfulness meditation practices. Return to your busy day filled with increased balance, focus and presence. Visit the calendar to preregister to save your spot.
