I began my journey into mindfulness practice and study after I retired from the Overland Park Police Department several years ago. I learned about Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) during a silent meditation retreat at Spirit Rock in California and was inspired to explore ways to share its powerful methods with first responders while deepening my own personal practice.
Erik is a certified mindfulness teacher through MAM. He is a graduate of the Upaya Chaplaincy Training Program, completed his MBSR Teacher Advancement Intensive in October of 2019 and is a Level One MBSR Teacher through Brown University's Mindfulness Center.
