With a strong belief that mindfulness can set a foundation for healing of both individuals and systems, Angela is motivated to help people discover their own spiritual paths and practices that support wellness and decrease suffering.
Angela Caruso-Yahne is a meditation practitioner and mindfulness trainer whose interests include wellness and resiliency for people who experience stress and secondary trauma, and spiritual practices for non-religious people. Her background is comprised of service as a paramedic, law enforcement officer, disaster rescue technician, and military flight medic. She retired from the Air Force at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and currently is a Training Officer at the Overland Park Fire Department. She frequently presents programs on mindfulness, wellness, and resiliency throughout the Johnson County first responder community and to emergency management volunteers. Angela has completed Trauma Resource Model training (Level II), and is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management by the University of Maryland at Baltimore County and the International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation. She also is a "Learn to Pause" instructor for the PauseFirst Project whose mission is to normalize meditation and mindfulness in first responders communities. Angela is an ordained chaplain who completed training at Upaya Zen Center.
