- Licensed Psychologist in KS & MO
- Certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Teacher
- Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200)
Through my psychology practice, I offer Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, an 8-week, evidence based Mindfulness Based Program (MBP) that helps people who suffer from depression and/or anxiety relate to difficulty with greater kindness and wisdom.
I co-teach Mindful Self-Compassion an evidence based, 8-week MBP that teaches participants how to befriend themselves and tame the harsh inner self-critic for greater resilience.
I also lead a number of other mindfulness classes and workshops through the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness.
My journey into mindfulness was inspired by my psychology clients and a heartfelt wish to help reduce their suffering. I also understand firsthand, through my own personal practice, the ways in which mindfulness can profoundly impact wellbeing. Yoga has been my doorway into mindfulness and compassion, making the stillness of sitting meditation more accessible, opening my awareness into inner experience, expanding self-knowledge, and teaching me to love unconditionally. My mindfulness practice has shown me that we are best able to alleviate the suffering of others when we attend to our own. I take great joy in sharing this knowledge with others.
I operate an independent psychology practice in Leawood, KS where I integrate mindfulness attitudes and practices into my services with clients. I am also the Heart-Mind Coordinator for the Midwest Mindfulness Alliance.
